Robin Willis

Attorney

Robin’s practice focuses exclusively on family law matters, at both the trial and appellate levels. She combines rigorous legal analysis and persuasive advocacy with a practical, compassionate approach to helping clients navigate some of the most difficult transitions of their lives.

Robin began working in family law during law school, where she gained experience with cases involving domestic violence, substance-use issues, and high-conflict child-custody disputes. Before entering private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk to four judges at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, analyzing complex legal and factual issues and producing precise, well-reasoned work under demanding deadlines. Her clerkship included a particular focus on family law matters, including cases involving novel questions about parentage and paternity. She most recently assisted in drafting a precedential opinion in a spousal-maintenance case.

Before becoming an attorney, Robin spent nearly two decades as a successful real estate broker and business owner. She represented clients in complex transactions and specialized in short sales for homeowners facing foreclosure. Her success negotiating debt-forgiveness with lenders while guiding clients through some of the most stressful periods of their lives shaped an approach she carries into her family law practice: being a strong advocate while remaining a calm and compassionate presence for her clients.

Family law disputes are about much more than the law. They can affect a person’s children, home, financial security, and sense of what the future will look like. Robin gives her clients something they can rely on throughout that process: thoughtful legal guidance, honest perspective, and an advocate who will protect their interests while never losing sight of the human being at the center of the case.

Outside of her legal practice, Robin enjoys hiking our beautiful Colorado mountains, bicycling, and fostering cats and other animals in need. She also shares her love of writing by volunteering as a community reader for a high school writing class.
