Joanne Morando

Joanne Morando brings essential skills for a family law attorney, including excellent organization and deadline management; expressing empathy and compassion for people involved in some of the most difficult times of their lives; and triage of unexpected situations that require immediate attention. Joanne builds a relationship of trust with her clients by listening to their concerns and prioritizing their goals when developing a legal strategy. She has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation including discovery, motions practice, depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trials. Joanne has tried more than 50 jury trials as lead attorney throughout Colorado.

Prior to joining Wells Family Law, Joanne handled cases involving commercial liability, general liability, and motor vehicle accident litigation at an insurance defense law firm. Her time practicing insurance defense increased her knowledge of civil discovery, civil litigation, and complex asset valuations.

Before focusing on civil litigation, Joanne spent four years as a Deputy District Attorney. She handled an extensive criminal caseload, comprised entirely of felony cases, including homicides, sexual assaults, crimes of violence, and others. Joanne’s experience as a criminal prosecutor built her straightforward and dynamic courtroom presence.

Outside of the practice of law, Joanne enjoys tennis, biking, snowboarding, backpacking, cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks, and spending time with her family.
