What is the most rewarding aspect of your practice?

0:04

so the most rewarding aspect about being

0:06

a family law attorney although it is a

0:08

very thankless job at times is really

0:12

seeing your client from the beginning

0:13

through the end often you take a case

0:16

where you feel like man I don’t know if

0:18

I’m ever going to be able to fix what’s

0:20

happening in this case but eventually

0:22

you you really do get to a point where

0:24

you feel like you’ve really helped this

0:26

family and helped your client get

0:27

through probably what’s the most

0:28

difficult uh time in their lives but

0:31

more often than not I feel that seeing

0:33

my client through the end of the case

0:35

seeing that they’ve now gotten the

0:36

ability to focus on their family and

0:38

their children rather than continuing

0:40

through litigation is probably the most

0:42

rewarding feeling that you’ve made a

0:44

difference

0:46

foreign

0:51

grad so I went to Du for both my

0:54

undergrad and for law school I’m a

0:57

Colorado Native but I had the benefit of

0:59

working after law school at a prominent

1:02

Family Law Firm that is actually where I

1:04

met Christy and I worked as a paralegal

1:06

a few years before Law School in a very

1:09

high conflict High litigation practice

1:12

and so I had the benefit of learning

1:14

client management case management I had

1:17

great mentors at that firm and that

1:19

really solidified my interest in family

1:21

law although I did dabble in some other

1:24

things during law school but eventually

1:27

decided that this was the path for me so

1:29

even though I’ve not been practicing

1:32

um you know less than about five years

1:34

now I definitely have a lot more

1:35

experience than most attorneys that have

1:37

been in practice as long as I have just

1:39

by way of working as a paralegal in

1:41

family law prior to that

From Chelsea’s interview for the Masters of Family Law series on ReelLawyers.com.

Chelsea M. Augelli’s practice focuses exclusively on family law matters. Chelsea brings a breadth of experience in divorces, common-law marriages, complex financial matters, allocation of parental responsibility actions, parenting time disputes, post-decree child support and/or maintenance modifications, relocation matters, as well as drafting cohabitation or prenuptial agreements.
